iPads and iPhones often save photos by keeping data about the way it's oriented rather than physically rotating the image. Apple’s Photos app can read this information and display the image the correctly. Third-party apps-like Zinnia-may interpret this information differently. When that happens, the image may appear upside down or rotated even though it looks normal in Photos.
This can occur if the image was taken while the device was rotated, edited or exported through another app, downloaded from another source, or saved with inconsistent orientation metadata. Because orientation is stored within each file, it is possible for only one photo to be affected.
Ways to correct the actual photo include:
Open the image in Photos, tap Edit, rotate slightly, and save.
Duplicate the photo and import the copy.
Take a screenshot of the image and import the screenshot.
Re-save the image using another app or via Files.
These steps typically rewrite the file so the orientation is embedded directly in the image, allowing other apps to display it correctly.
