It’s so good to see your wonderful artwork in the Gallery. We’d like to offer some guidelines for you to follow when publishing non-Pigment artwork to The Gallery.
Any image you colored and published that is from a non-Pigment source, including your own original artwork, should have attribution. This is a common courtesy that should always be extended to every artist when possible.
Here are a few helpful tips for different scenarios:
For artwork shared by members of the Pigment Gallery, attribution should show the artist’s name and that you have permission to post. Here’s what that looks like:
@Username, permitted
For photos you have taken or original art, simply state that it belongs to you. A few ideas for your attribution would be:
- My photo
- Original artwork
- Drawn by me
- Original artwork inspired by ______
- Designed by me using [Name of tool/app]
For artwork you purchased, you should include the artist’s name, where you got it, and why it’s okay for you to post it. Try something like this:
Johnny C. Lately, Etsy, purchased with license to publish
For public domain images, state the artist name (if known), where you got the image, and that it’s a public domain image. These would work perfectly:
- van Gogh, artsandculture.google.com, public domain
- Unknown, Unsplash.com, public domain
For AI generated artwork, include yourself as the creator, the name of the AI App, and the name of the app used to modify or enhance the AI creation (if applicable). Take a look below:
- Me, AI-app-name
- Me, AI-App, my-arteditor-app
Helpful Hints:
- If you're not sure you have permission to use it, then don't publish it.
- Pinterest and Google are not sources for artwork, please do not publish works solely found there.
- Follow these guidelines and you'll have no issues with posting imported artwork to the Gallery.
