Colors Bleed with Imported Artwork

It's always fun to color images created by people whose artwork inspires us, whether they're people we know from the Pigment Gallery or artists we find online. When coloring imported images, occasionally something goes wrong and color seems to unexpectedly go all over the page without staying in the lines. We call this bleeding.

When this happens with imported line art designs, we recommend first trying to import the design again using the Bold option setting. If that fails, try reaching out to the original designer of the artwork to see if they can possibly correct the bleeds. Bleeds often happen because of a gap in the lines of the design or due to the lines being too thin.

This is most commonly experienced on images of mandala artwork designed and shared by members of the Pigment Gallery. If you cannot remember who created the design, then snap a screenshot and submit a request with the file attached. We'll do our best to help you investigate further.
