Having issues with your Apple Pencil? Let's determine if the issue is specific to Pigment or is a problem with your Apple Pencil. First, let's give the Pigment app a clean reboot. If that doesn't work, we'll check out the Pencil itself.
Pigment Reboot
First, force quit your app and then reopen it.
- Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the App Switcher.
- Swipe left or right to find the app you want to close.
- Swipe up on the app's preview to close it.
If that doesn't help, you can try reinstalling Pigment.
Apple Pencil Problem Solving
If you're still reading, that means the problem isn't likely with the Pigment app. Let's check out your Pencil. Open the Notes app and try to draw with your Apple Pencil to see if it works as expected, including pressure sensitivity.
If the Apple Pencil doesn't work properly in the Notes app or other drawing apps then it's most likely an issue with the Pencil and not your Pigment app.
Try these:
- Make sure your Apple Pencil isn't low on battery and is paired correctly. Try docking it to your device to check.
- Check that the tip of your pencil is screwed on completely (you can unscrew and then re-screw the tip do this.)
- Replace the Pencil tip (Apple Pencils usually include a few replacements when purchased).
- Check to see if it might be an Apple Pencil compatibility issue. Please use this guide to make sure you have the correct Apple Pencil for your device: Apple Pencil compatibility with iPad models
