Artwork Not Saving

Occasionally, you might come across a problem where your work isn't saving properly. Let's delve into some straightforward steps to sort this out.

If you open your Files application, tap iCloud Drive, and tap Pigment, do you see your missing work?

There are several factors that could be causing this issue – the number of projects you have, available storage on your device or iCloud, or iCloud synchronising.

Let's first try checking that your storage isn't filled to capacity:

  • Open Preferences on your device
  • Tap General > iPad Storage - have you got at least 3GB of available storage? If not, please follow the recommendations on that screen to free up storage.

If it's not a problem with device storage, it might be linked to low iCloud storage.

  • Open Preferences on your device
  • Tap your name
  • Tap iCloud > Manage Storage - are you running short on storage?

Alternatively, it could be related to iCloud synchronising.

  • Open Preferences on your device
  • Tap your name
  • Tap iCloud > turn OFF iCloud for Pigment
  • Re-open Pigment and see if that made a difference.

A possible short term solution is to switch OFF iCloud whilst you're using Pigment by navigating to Settings -> tap your name -> iCloud -> turnOFF Pigment switch.

Now, if you save your work in progress, does it function correctly?

NOTE: If you open Pigment now, you may get a pop-up saying iCloud is disconnected. This is expected. Your "My Work" will also show blank because your previous work is safe on iCloud and Pigment is going to store your new work on your device for a bit.

Lastly, have you tried doing a full reinstallation of Pigment? This means deleting the app from your device and reinstalling from the App Store. Before doing this, please ensure that iCloud is enabled, and your projects are backed up so you do not lose any of your work.

Thank you for your patience. These steps should help you get back to creating without a hitch!
